The Idea: Form a group designed to a) generate LOCAL dealflow for angel investors, b) assist entrepreneurs in the creation of fundable startups and c) provide investment capital for startups. Instead of charging angels and entrepreneurs a fee to participate require that they instead invest their time. The group should be organized for and by all of the interested parties (angels AND entrepreneurs).
Mission: To connect angels and entrepreneurs for mutual benefit.
Background: This group was originally concieved and described in a post titled 'My idea for an Angel/Entrepreneur Group in Dallas'. Borrowing from the Barcamp, Democamp, Coworking, Microformats experience; the idea is to help create a vibrant, self-organizing, startup community by removing the profit motive (i.e. as opposed to typical angel networks practice of 'paying to pitch').
