Welcome to the SpringStage Wiki

SpringStage's objective is to build a network of online, offline and media properties in an effort to promote entrepreneurship. Our focus is the coverage of regional startup scenes, entrepreneurs, venture capital firms and cool businesses.  Our goal is to create an 'instruction manual' and online resources for anyone interested in being a catalyst for startup and entrepreneurial activity in their area.  Interested in joining our team?  The first step is applying to get your own startup blog (i.e. for your local community) by emailing amuse@springstage.com.

Startup Blogs

SpringStage was originally founded to create a network of local startup blogs. The idea was to write about local entrepreneurial activity ultimately creating or showcasing local startup communities.  Our goal, by the end of 2009, is to have at least one startup blog in each of the 50 U.S. states.  The network currently consists of these blogs:

Startup Events

In the summer of 2008 I began hosting the Dallas Startup Happy Hour.  The idea was to create an non-commercial event to get local entrepreneurs together on a regular basis.

Angel Entrepreneur Meetup

The idea behind the Angel Entrepreneur Meetup was to form a group designed to a) generate LOCAL dealflow for angel investors, b) assist entrepreneurs in the creation of fundable startups and c) provide investment capital for startups.  Instead of charging angels and entrepreneurs a fee to participate require that they instead invest their time.  The group should be organized for and by all of the interested parties (angels AND entrepreneurs).
